<span style="letter-spacing: 0px;">To celebrate 40 years of the UAE, Gallery One has commissioned three artists living and working here to create a batch of affordable, limited-edition posters for sale in their stores in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. </span> The <span style="letter-spacing: 0px;">British designer Gregg Sedgwick has taken 40 colours and 40 fonts to render a collage of words in tribute to the occasion, while calligraphic pieces from the Syrian artist Helen Abbas (below), who has used the UAE flag colours for a sweeping energetic work, show a creative use of patriotic verve. The local artist Fatima Alghafli has approached the occasion more illustratively, using a stamp found on an old envelope, images from outside Union House and Sheikh Zayed to try to capture this moment in the country's history.</span> <span style="letter-spacing: 0px;">All pieces are pretty affordable, with fully framed ones going for AED1750 and unframed AED1450.
