Abu Dhabi Film Festival 2012: Opening party

The Abu Dhabi Big Band provided the soundtrack to the opening party of the Abu Dhabi Film Festival 2012, set in the grounds of the Emirates Palace last night. Alongside big-band classics, including a few renditions of pop hits and a whole lot of buffet food (including some rather excellent peppery tuna steak), there was even time for a performance from the UAE-based oud maestro Kamal Mussallam, followed by some DJ action (and yes, as per the rule, I Gotta Feeling was played) that went on into the wee hours. Some of those engaged on the dancefloor late on might be hanging their heads today, however, as there were some pretty wild shapes being thrown.
