Saudi Arabian television director Tarek Ahmed Riri has died, his daughter confirmed today. The former Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture and Information is being mourned by his journalist daughter, Hala Tarek Riri, who shared a prayer confirming that he had died this morning, and then tweeted a story announcing his death, with the caption: "May God have mercy on you, you tender heart." He is survived by his two daughters, Suha and Hala. The cause of death has not been confirmed by the family. Hashim Abdo Hashim, journalist and former editor of <em>Okaz</em> newspaper, tweeted his condolences, saying: "Our dear and beloved Tarek Riri, I was greatly saddened by the news of your death this morning your life was filled with outstanding achievements in TV and in media. Adding: "May God have mercy on you, and my sincere condolences to your dear daughters, Suha and Hala, and to all your honourable family." Turki Aldakhil, Saudi Arabia's current ambassador to the UAE and the former general manager of the Al Arabiya News Channel, retweeted Hashim's message, adding: "May god have mercy on Tarek Riri ...<br/> We belong to Allah and to Him we shall return."
