He is one of the region's most renowned acting legends, and now you can relive the on-screen magic of Ahmed Zaki for an entire month. The Egyptian actor is the focus of an OSN special, with the network screening 30 films from Zaki's back catalogue throughout June. OSN will broadcast a different film starring the Zagazig-born actor every day of the month on its Yahala Cinema channel, as well as its online streaming platform. The films will air nightly at 8pm UAE time, kicking off with a showing of sports drama <em>Mr Karate </em>(1993) on Monday, June 1. Historical drama <em>Nasser 56</em>, in which Zaki played former Egyptian president Gamal Abdel Nasser and starred with the late Hassan Hosny, will be shown on Tuesday, June 2, while <em>The Days of Sadat (</em>2001), one of his most famous roles in which he portrayed former Egyptian President Anwar Al Sadat, will be broadcast on Friday, June 5. Works will span the breadth of Zaki's career, with other titles including <em>Ahlam Hend W Kamlya </em>(1988), <em>Al Modmen</em> (1983), <em>Abou Dahab</em> (1996) and <em>Hassan Ellol </em>(1997). The series will draw to a close on Tuesday, June 30 with a showing of <em>Sawak el Hanem </em>(1994). Zaki, who made his film debut in 1974, died in 2005 aged 55. He graduated from the Cairo Higher Institute for Drama Studies in 1974, and was a frequent collaborator with Egyptian director Youssef Chahine. Zaki's son with Hala Fouad, Haitham, who was also an actor, died suddenly in 2019 at the age of 35.
