Ever wonder how they do it? In a newly released hyperlapse video, we see Dubai Opera magnificently evolve from a stage to an ice rink in preparation for The Nutcracker on Ice. Of course, it’s not easy and the process is probably quite time consuming, but luckily for us, the process has been condensed to a mere 30 seconds.
The impressive video gives us a glimpse into the work that goes into putting on a world-class performance such as this. In the short clip, we are able to see the manpower that is required to take down the stage and create an ice rink. We also get a quick look at the performers skating around the rink, testing the ice in preparation for their performance.
Dubai Opera opened on August 31 with a performance by Spanish tenor Plácido Domingo and has since been home to the musical Les Miserables and performances from Flamenco star Sara Baras and Indian sitar player and composer Anoushka Shankar among others.
