He's known for tracks such as On My Way, and that's exactly what Alan Walker will be doing next month. The DJ is set to jet into Dubai in January to perform at the Coca-Cola Arena, marking his first performance in the city. The English-Norwegian musician and record producer will take to the stage at the City Walk venue on Thursday, January 7. The performance is one of a suite of events held as part of Dubai Shopping Festival, which runs from Thursday, December 17 until Saturday, January 30. Walker, who is known for wearing an enigmatic mask and hoodie while on stage, is behind hits such as Sing Me to Sleep, Alone and All Falls Down. His most famous track, arguably, is Faded, a 2015 hit which has been streamed more than a billion times on Spotify and viewed more than two billion times on YouTube. Walker, 23, has performed at big-name festivals including Coachella, Tomorrowland and Lollapalooza, and has collaborated with stars such as Miley Cyrus, Sia, Bruno Mars, Avicii and Coldplay. "Alan Walker is an artist all fans in the UAE have been waiting eagerly as he's never performed in the Emirates," says Sudhir Syal, chief executive of BookMyShow. Tickets for the show will go on sale at midday on Wednesday, December 9, with prices starting from Dh175 for early-bird seats at bookmyshow.com. Regular ticket prices start from Dh249 for Bronze tier, while tickets for tables of four start from Dh595. As part of Coca-Cola Arena's safety measures, all concertgoers will have temperatures checked on entry, be given socially distanced allocated seating, and be required to wear face masks. Walker is not the only star jetting to the UAE to perform as part of DSF. British comedian Jack Whitehall will host a show at the Dubai World Trade Centre in January as part of the festival. There will also be a multi-artist closing concert at the Coca-Cola Arena to mark the end of DSF, with acts yet to be announced.
