Starzly: How to get a personalised message from RedOne, Assala or Carole Samaha

You can pay to have messages sent to yourself or to a friend

It's likely that you have heard of the Cameo or Halahi websites, which allow you to pay for shout-outs from celebrities.

However, there is another option on the block that offers messages from stars predominantly from the Arab world.

Dubai-founded website Starzly describes itself as "an online platform connecting consumers wanting a more personal interaction with celebrities and influencers, while enabling the influencers to increase their engagement, revenue and following".

It promises a seven-day turnaround for video messages, with musicians including Carole Samaha, Walid Toufic, Assala and Abdullah Al-Sadhan on its books.

Prices vary; a message from Assala costs Dh1,102, Samaha's well wishes cost Dh918 and Money Heist's Enrique Arce is also featured on the app, sending messages for Dh551.

Moroccan-Swedish singer-songwriter RedOne, who has worked with the likes of Lady Gaga, Enrique Iglesias and Jennifer Lopez, is also listed on the site. A message from him costs Dh367. We hope they all start with him shouting, "RedOne", just like in the songs he produces.

On the site, you can search for celebrities by category. Those listed include singers, Syrian drama stars, actors and actresses, sport, media, mahrgant (festivals or events) and just joined, which collates new stars from across all categories.

At the time of writing, prices varied from Dh25 to Dh1,102.

A message from influencers Omar Rafaat, Mahmoud Fero and Adidas costs Dh25, Dh40 and Dh40, respectively. At the top end of the scale, Kuwaiti singer and actress Noura Bel Alef, Syrian singer Assala and Saudi Arabian actor Al-Sadhan each demand Dh1,102 for their videos.
