SRK to shoot new Yash Chopra film
Shah Rukh Khan is scheduled to begin shooting his new film in the northern Indian city of Srinagar next week. Directed by the veteran filmmaker Yash Chopra, the film co-stars Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma, and features music by the renowned composer A R Rahman. It is Chopra's first film in eight years. A source from the film's production team said: "The exact dates of the shooting and the locations are being kept a secret to avoid the huge rush of SRK's fans, who could interfere with the shooting because of their enthusiasm to get a glimpse of their superstar." The 46-year-old actor is said to be playing an army officer in the movie. Chopra had earlier announced plans to release the film in India on November 13, in time for the festival of Diwali. – IANS
Shirish Kunder apologises to Shah Rukh Khan
The filmmaker Shirish Kunder has put an end to the animosity between him and the actor Shah Rukh Khan by posting an apology on Twitter. Kunder, who is married to Shah Rukh's friend, the choreographer-director Farah Khan, created a stir last year when he took to Twitter for a potshot at Khan's big-budget film RA.One. The film, which was released last October, failed to meet box office expectations. "I just heard a 150-crore firework fizzle," Kunder had tweeted, referring to the film's budget of 1.5 billion rupees (Dh99 million). In January, Kunder and Khan were caught in a brawl at the actor Sanjay Dutt's birthday party. On Sunday, Kunder issued a public apology. "I'll always regret one thing that I feel very guilty about. I sincerely apologise for my tweet on RA.One," he wrote. His wife Farah said: "I'm proud of my husband. It takes a big heart to apologise." Kunder is currently promoting his new film Joker, starring Sonakshi Sinha and Akshay Kumar, which will be released on Friday. – IANS
