Singer Demi Lovato has announced her engagement to actor Max Ehrich, fewer than four months after the couple went public with their romance. Ehrich, 29, proposed with a sizeable ring by celebrity jeweller Peter Marco, which was custom made for the singer, 27. The ring has a large emerald-cut diamond, with smaller diamonds on each side. Jeweller Mehul Pethani, from Cara Jewellers in Dubai, estimates that the large diamond is seven to eight carats and the ring "would cost Dh500,000 to Dh700,000" to buy in the UAE, "depending on the quality of diamonds". "When I was a little girl, my birth dad always called me his 'little partner' –something that might've sounded strange without his southern cowboy-like accent. To me it made perfect sense. And today that word makes perfect sense again, but today I'm officially going to be someone else's partner," Sorry Not Sorry singer Lovato wrote on Instagram, announcing the engagement. "[Max,] I knew I loved you the moment I met you. It was something I can’t describe to anyone who hasn’t experienced it firsthand but luckily you did, too," she added. To announce their betrothal, the couple shared photos taken on the beach after Ehrich proposed. The photos were captured by photographer and music video director Angelo Kritikos. "I’ve never felt so unconditionally loved by someone in my life (other than my parents), flaws and all. You never pressure me to be anything other than myself. And you make me want to be the best version of myself," she added. "I’m honoured to accept your hand in marriage. I love you more than a caption could express but I’m ecstatic to start a family and life with you. I love you forever my baby. My partner. Here’s to our future!" Ehrich's post echoed Lovato's. He wrote: "You are every love song, every film, every lyric, every poem, everything I could ever dream of and then some in a partner in life. Words cannot express how infinitely in love with you I am forever and always and then some. I cannot spend another second of my time here on Earth without the miracle of having you as my wife. Here’s to forever baby." Ehrich is known for his role as Fenmore Baldwin on TV series The Young and the Restless. It was confirmed that the couple were dating at the end of March, before they went into lockdown together. They are one of the many couples who appear in the video for Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber's Stuck with U.
