He is best-known for his cover of Robyn's Dancing on My Own, but Calum Scott is unlikely to be grooving solo when he comes to the UAE. The British singer-songwriter will perform at Dubai Opera on Wednesday, January 20, as part of Dubai Shopping Festival's series of concerts. The star, who found fame after competing on UK TV show Britain's Got Talent in 2015, released his debut album, Only Human, in 2018. After auditioning for the reality talent contest with a cover of Robyn's hit single, Scott recorded his own cover of Dancing on My Own, which scored a Brit Award nomination for Best Single in 2016. His cover has also amassed more than two billion streams, and hit the No 2 spot on the UK charts. His audition performance also scored Simon Cowell's golden buzzer, with the record executive sending Scott straight through to the competition's live shows. Scott, 32, is also known for tracks such as You Are the Reason, which has garnered more than 3.7 billion streams worldwide, and his most recent single, No Matter What. Tickets for his show are available at ticketmaster.ae, with prices starting at Dh195. Scott is not the only star jetting into the UAE to perform as part of DSF. Gigs announced for this year's event include DJ Alan Walker at Coca-Cola Arena on Thursday, January 7, British comedian Jack Whitehall on Wednesday, January 13 and Thursday, January 14, and Pakistani singer Atif Aslam on Friday, January 15. There will also be a multi-artist closing concert at the Coca-Cola Arena to mark the end of DSF, with acts yet to be announced. The 26th Dubai Shopping Festival runs from Thursday, December 17, to Saturday, January 30. The six-week event will feature live concerts, markets, art installations and stage shows, as well as sales, promotions and competitions.
