8 only-in-Dubai moments from Rita Ora's fresh 'New Look' music video

There are plenty shot in Dubai, but few music videos are quite as DXB-tastic as Rita Ora's new one

The music video for Rita Ora's song New Look dropped on Monday afternoon, and it is basically an ode to Dubai. The British singer tours the emirate in the two-minute-and-43-second clip – and here are the best only-in-Dubai moments from it.

1. Her and her posse hang at the famous wavy Meydan bridge 

Anyone who's driven past or on this bridge at night will remember its neon blue waves, and Ora took advantage of that distinctive design to light up much of the video.

Then there is some 'don't-try-this-at-home' driving on said bridge: not to be emulated.

2. Then she spends time at Al Seef

Al Seef, the new development on the Creek, is right next to Al Fahidi Historical District (one of our favourite neighbourhoods).

The new Al Seef seeks to emulate the historical buildings it neighbours, and does so remarkably well. So much so that most people who watch this video will likely never guess these buildings are almost brand new.

Al Seef is already a lovely, bustling place to hang out at night, however: we love the waterfront Syrian restaurant Al Hamidieh, and hope Ora managed to find some time to visit the always-busy Palestinian cafe Nablus for some tea and kanafeh.

3. Then she chats with friends along the Creek  

In the video, Rita and her girlfriends are spotted hanging out at Dubai Creek, as you do, and then her love interest hops on an abra.

He's a smart man, they're such a cost effective mode of transport at Dh1 a pop, although we're not sure the abra driver would let him sit like this:

4. They throw in the classic Sheikh Zayed Road shot 

Is it a music video about Dubai if you don't have that drone shot of the first-to-be-developed portion of Dubai's famous Sheikh Zayed Road?

5. And here's a bit more Bur Dubai 

Then they got back in their cars to drive around this pivotal Bur Dubai artery.

The street is right next to Al Seef, but feels a world away, and is home to Dubai's museum as well as a lot of textile shops. We love exploring this street in winter, but on foot to avoid the traffic.

6. The Sheikh Zayed Road tunnel gets its moment 

This tunnel basically means 'welcome home' to anyone who lives past Trade Centre, because you always drive through it late at night en route to your apartment/villa from the airport.

It also means 'time to get to work' for people who live before Trade Centre and have to brave the traffic every day.

7. The Burj Khalifa has a second of glory 

"What you going to do when the sun goes down?" Rita sings as the camera pans over the world's tallest building.

Our answer? Stare at the world's tallest building as it lights up the night sky, of course. And take photos for the 'Gram.

8. Rita even shows off a custom Dubai license plate

This one looks limited edition (cue hundreds of people frantically researching how to get one).
