It's the first time the Indian singer and composer has performed in the UAE capital.

The concert came as part of Yas Island's Diwali celebrations.

His set was a blend of Desi, folk, Sufi and Indian pop.

He took to the stage with an ensemble of singers and musicians, performing songs from the classic films he has scored.

It was a Bollywood-style spectacle with tight choreography and spectacular visual effects.

This may have been his first concert in the capital, but Rahman is no stranger to the UAE.

He has performed several times in Dubai.
