If you didn't think Disney's live-action remake of The Lion King had enough star power, newly released character posters will change your mind. Set against a black background, the photos of the actors in the film have been superimposed with the characters they are playing, leading to a beautifully striking contrast between the realistic looking CGI-animated animals and human. The live-action film features a star-studded cast that includes Donald Glover, Beyonce and Chiwetel Ejiofor, respectively voicing the main characters of Simba, Nala and Scar. Other cast members include John Oliver, Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, Eric Andre and Keegan-Michael Key. Directed by Jon Favreau, the film journeys to the African savannah after a future king is born and follows his journey towards claiming his spot in the animal kingdom. While we don’t want to give away too much of the plot for those who haven’t seen it, the film focuses on betrayal, tragedy, drama, friendship and some pretty catchy tunes. The film is one of Disney's ongoing slate of 'live action' remakes of its animated classics, and is aimed at making sure Disney remains king of the box office. In The National's ranking of classic Disney films, The Lion King came out on top. If you can't wait until the film's release, here's a sneak peek of Glover, Rogen and Eichner singing Hakuna Matata: The Lion King will be in UAE theatres on July 18
