Her thick locks have inspired plenty of how-to beauty tutorials, but Priyanka Chopra's hair is currently the subject of more controversial headlines. After being photographed attending an appointment at a London salon last week, the actress, 38, had been accused of flouting the UK's strict lockdown rules. Restrictions introduced in the UK this month prohibit residents from leaving their homes, except for "essential reasons" such as exercise, doctor's appointments and grocery shopping with beauty salons currently closed around the country. However, the Jamshedpur-born star has since insisted her appointment did not breach rules, as the visit was made for work purposes as she shoots Text For You. "Following government guidance, Priyanka Chopra Jonas's hair was coloured by Josh Wood for the purpose of the film she is currently shooting," a representative for the actress said. "The salon was opened privately for the production and everyone involved had been tested and followed both the DCMS working guidelines and the film production regulations." Chopra, who is married to musician Nick Jonas, was photographed at Josh Wood Colour salon in Notting Hill on Wednesday, with police officers attending the scene. "Police were alerted to reports of a Covid breach taking place within a hairdressers," a representative for the Metropolitan Police told the Daily Mail on Thursday. "Officers attended and the owner of the salon was given a verbal reminder of the important need to comply with all regulations regarding Covid-19 and signposted to sources of advice. No fixed penalty notices were issued." Under current restrictions, UK business owners can be fined up to £10,000 ($13,500) for breaking the rules. In response to the furore, Chopra's spokesperson confirmed that the film shoot was following the appropriate guidelines and corresponding paperwork had been provided to police. "As per Film London and current government advice, by continuing to follow the approved Covid-19 guidance, film and TV production can continue in the capital and locations can continue to accommodate shoots and recces that are carried out in-line with the guidance." Just a few days after her hair appointment, Chopra revealed filming on Text For You had wrapped. "Last day on set!" she captioned a photograph posted on Saturday, as she wore a face mask. "Will miss this incredible crew that I’ve spent the last three months with. So special to be at work." The actress has been living in London for three months as she filmed the romance drama, which also stars Outlander's Sam Heughan, Celine Dion and Russell Tovey.
