  Margarita, With a Straw: Directed by Shonali Bose, this film stars Kalki Koechlin as a girl with cerebral palsy who is determined to live life to the fullest. The film won critical acclaim at its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, and earned Koechlin the Best Actress award at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival. It is scheduled for a multiplex release on March 13.

  Dolly Ki Doli: This romantic comedy is due out on the same day as Baby, but that’s about all they have in common. Directed by Abhishek Dogra, it stars Sonam Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Pulkit Samrat and Varun Sharma. Kapoor and Rao are well known, while Samrat and Sharma, who starred in last year’s Farhan Akhtar-produced Fukrey, were a hit with critics and audiences for their comic timing and great chemistry. Bonus: as with any Sonam Kapoor film, we know the styling is going to be impeccable.   Baby: An action thriller directed by Neeraj ­Pandey and starring Akshay Kumar, Rana Daggubati, Anupam Kher and Danny Denzongpa. It filmed extensively in Abu Dhabi, with the cast and crew returning twice to the city to complete the movie. The trailer looks exciting – but, to be ­honest, we are more excited to see what the capital looks like on the big screen when it is released on January 23. Courtesy T-Series

  Roy: The new director Vikramjit Singh has managed to assemble an impressive star cast for his romantic-action thriller that is due to come out on February 13. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor in the title role as a thief, Arjun Rampal as a filmmaker and Jacqueline Fernandez in a double role. While the details of the plot are under wraps, the prospect of watching Kapoor is more exciting – he hasn’t been seen on the big screen in ages (save for his funny cameo in PK).
