After months of teasers which culminated with the release of its official trailer on Thursday, Black Mirror’s first feature-length film will drop today – and it’s set to make television history. It was widely rumoured that Bandersnatch would be a film with a 'choose-your-own-adventure' format, but Netflix has now confirmed how it will all work. Starring Will Poulter, Fionn Whitehead and Asim Chaudhry, the programme's synopsis reads: "In 1984, a young programmer begins to question reality as he adapts a sprawling fantasy novel into a video game and soon faces a mind-mangling challenge. Welcome back." The trailer is every bit as surreal and twisted as the four Black Mirror series that have come before it, but this stand-alone feature is set to offer fans a whole new experience. According to Global News, Bandersnatch will follow the same format as Netflix's cartoons which let children choose their own story, however, this is the first time it has been adapted for adult television. Choices are said to come at the viewers “every 1.5 minutes”, with the story featuring five main endings, each with multiple variations. But due to the sheer number of choices offered to the viewer throughout the 90-minute film, there are more than a trillion variations of the story. Bandersnatch is available to stream on Netflix worldwide from today. __________________ Read more: __________________
