Amy Poehler will have some celebrity friends – and her high school English teacher – on hand for her upcoming book tour.
HarperCollins Publishers imprint Dey Street Books confirmed that the Parks and Recreation star has four appearances planned to promote her memoir Yes Please. After an October 27 reading at Barnes & Noble in New York City's Union Square, Poehler will speak with former Saturday Night Live colleague Seth Meyers uptown at the 92nd Street Y on October 28 – the day the book comes out. Norman Lear will join her at the University of California, Los Angeles on November 8. Poehler will chat with her former teacher, Kathy Dalton, at an event in Boston on October 29.
Crystal, Guest provide audio for Elwes book
Cary Elwes had help from some old friends for the audiobook of his memoir As You Wish: Inconceivable Tales from the Making of The Princess Bride.
Among the friends, announced by Simon & Schuster Audio, are the actors Billy Crystal, Christopher Guest and Robin Wright. All three were Elwes’s co-stars in the 1987 box office favourite. Director Rob Reiner and producer Norman Lear also provided narration.
As You Wish comes out October 14 in hardcover, e-book and audio editions. The 51-year-old actor also has appeared in the movies Bram Stoker's Dracula and Twister, and in the television series The X-Files.
