One of the large sculptures in the main foyer of last year's Abu Dhabi Art was Grass. Spaces of Gravity by two leading Ukranian artists Petro Bevza and Oleksiy Lytvynenko. The work consisted of giant blades of grass made from metal and was one of the more memorable of the public artworks on show. This month, they will present a collection of new paintings at N2N Gallery in Abu Dhabi.
Merging the symbols of flowers and water, this exhibition celebrates life and the miracle of nature. The paintings are figurative and abstract and use a palette of bright colours as well as some more muted tones. In the same way as the sculpture did, the natural world takes centre stage. Lytvynenko’s and Bevza’s artworks are highly respected in the region and internationally.
Rebirth opened this week and runs until March 1 at N2N Gallery, Nation Towers Galleria, Abu Dhabi.
