Gallery Ward, a Dubai gallery dedicated to Egyptian art and Zoom Cities, a design space are the two UAE participants in this year’s Beirut Art Fair, which will take place from September 17-20. The event, now in its sixth year, is dedicated to the rich artistic offerings from the MENASA region. The fair will host over 50 galleries showcasing more than 1,500 contemporary artworks by some 200 artists from 30 nationalities represented by galleries from 16 countries.
The fair director, Laure D’Hauteville says the event has been growing year on year. “We strive to keep up this pace of growth as we continue to showcase the best quality works and collections from both well established and emerging artists in the region to satisfy the collector’s appetite for all forms of art, be it painting, sculpture, drawings, photography, video, or installations. Our will is to always be in line with the changes in the art market.”
As well as the UAE offerings, interesting work from Thailand, France and a MArina Abramovic piece from Kappatos Gallery in Greece will be on show as well as a series of design pieces.
