An exhibition of paintings by students of Abu Dhabi’s Autism Centre went on display this week in Artissima Gallery at The Galleria on Al Maryah Island in Abu Dhabi.
The event, supported by Invest AD, an Abu Dhabi investment company and Al Maz by Momo restaurant is aimed at raising awareness for the condition, which affects communication and social interaction.
On Sunday, at the formal opening, Manar Al Hinai, Head of Corporate Communications at Invest AD said art was an important part of autistic students’ education, providing an expressive way for them to communicate.
“These artworks have been produced in Abu Dhabi Autism Centre’s art therapy classes, and we are proud to show the work of some of the talented students in such a great location as The Galleria Mall. Invest AD is pleased that we can continue to support such a deserving cause and look forward to continuing this in the future.”
* The exhibition runs until Saturday and is free and open to the public.
