Dating back to the 1800s, when Caroline, Countess of Seafield asked her gamekeepers on the Seafield estate in the valley of Glen Urquhard, to wear a very specific check pattern, The Prince of Wales check has had a long history. The design was eventually picked up, a century on, by Edward VII, Prince of Wales who was seen as an iconic male fashion figure of the late 19th century and early 1900s. When he adapted the Glenurquhart design to his own specifications, it was immediately accepted into fashion circles, eventually earning the pattern the name we know today, Prince of Wales check.
Today, Thomas Pink has taken on the pattern, offering up a collection of men’s shirts that consist of 100s two fold cotton yarn, rich colours, and Pink detailing. Shirts are available in both Slim and Classic fit.
