For our fashion editorial for the March issue of Luxury magazine, we made the unprecedented decision to fly to Paris and shoot the latest spring/summer 2016 haute couture collections. While international heavyweights like Christian Dior, Saint Laurent and Chanel were all involved, we were keen to incorporate a brand with regional roots too.

We chose to include a breathtaking skirt and embellished top by Syrian couturier Rami al Ali. It fit in splendidly with the rest of the editorial, which was shot at the Imperial Ballroom at The Westin Paris, Place Vendôme. More and more, we are seeing contemporary separates emerge on the haute couture catwalks, rather than conventional gowns and dresses. This Rami al Ali look is the ideal portrayal of this trend, and can serve as inspiration for evening wear, and even wedding wear. The key is to keep the focal point on the decadent embellishments, for an understated approach to glamour and grandeur. The outfit was given minimal accessories: a trio of gold Bulgari bangles, along with a gold Cartier ring finished the spectacular look.

Starting this Thursday, March 10, Rami al Ali’s latest haute couture collection will be presented at the Rosewood Abu Dhabi. The private preview will be held for a duration two weeks.

Electoral College Victory

Trump has so far secured 295 Electoral College votes, according to the Associated Press, exceeding the 270 needed to win. Only Nevada and Arizona remain to be called, and both swing states are leaning Republican. Trump swept all five remaining swing states, North Carolina, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin, sealing his path to victory and giving him a strong mandate.

Popular Vote Tally

The count is ongoing, but Trump currently leads with nearly 51 per cent of the popular vote to Harris’s 47.6 per cent. Trump has over 72.2 million votes, while Harris trails with approximately 67.4 million.
