Bold floral prints and blatant sportswear references abound in Alessandro Michele's spring/summer 2017 collection for Gucci, the fashion house that has pioneered a dynamic shift in style trends in recent years.
While its floral-printed accessories, appliqué-adorned white trainers, attention-grabbing monogram belts and classic logo T-shirts have been bought by the masses, there are some elements from the men’s collection that are for only the boldest of fashion fans. Frilled high-colours, pink culottes, pastel rose-printed suits and crystal-studded sweater vests picturing bunny rabbits and birds, for instance, are not pieces that may not attract your average male shopper.
The suit in the image above, however, could be easily adapted into any modern man's wardrobe. The navy blue outfit, which features a paisley pattern, was used in the March fashion editorial, shot at Hatta Dam, for Luxury magazine. The trousers and blazer can be worn separately or together for maximum impact. Our favourite feature of the ensemble, however, would have to be the embroidered floral lace pieces that are affixed to the cuffs of the white shirtsleeves. Men, take note: this is a micro-trend that will surely turn heads.
