Sharjah Police plan to install modern road radars that can detect a range of road violations, including tailgaters and motorists wanted for security reasons.
Brigadier Saif Al Zarri, commander of the force, said he hoped to replace all radars in the emirate with the new version by 2018.
He also called for new laws to deal with the use of white arms — non-explosive weapons.
“It is time to propose a draft law to define violations involving the use of arms after this phenomenon has become common among youth who used white arms in fights, totally unaware of the consequences of such a crime”.
