The style set in Abu Dhabi was treated to a rare happening this week when fashion blogger Tala Farah (mysmallobsessions.blogspot.com) hosted a showing of the spring/summer 2013 collections from my-wardrobe.com, the UK-based fashion website that ships "everyday luxury" labels around the world (yes, including the UAE). Set up in Farah's lovely villa by the Corniche, guests could shop the online collection with the iPads provided or choose from samples on the racks, with 20 per cent off labels as Issa, Burberry Brit, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Vivienne Westwood Anglomania and 3.1 Phillip Lim. Farah separated out her own savvy choices, from which we snatched Markus Lupfer's peplum frill bodice dress, a cross between Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's and Angelina Jolie in Tomb Raider. And if all you wanted to do was browse, you could still snack on food by the Circle cafe or get your nails painted by the girls from Sugar. The dress we bought, by Markus Lupfer.
