DUBAI // Police have confiscated 22,153 fireworks during 400 inspections of shops and warehouses in industrial areas.
The inspections were carried out in collaboration of the Department of Economic Development and also covered residential areas, said Brigadier Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi, Director of the General Department of Organizations Protective Security and Emergency
He said the amount of fireworks confiscated was less than in previous years indicating the success of awareness campaigns, reported Aletihad the Arabic-language sister newspaper of The National.
