Tibi’s new collection has arrived in store, awash with Edwardian ruffles, dropped shoulders and faux-cinched waists.
With a distinctly romantic and historical edge, statement tops come with a variety of neck lines, from pulled up high under the chin, to resting off the shoulder. Sleeves too are very much a focal point, whether caught at the wrist, or open and flowing. Fabrics are key to getting this look right, so opt for crisp plain cottons and poplins, or soft patterned silks. Such exaggerated elements are best paired with simple trousers or skirts, however, to avoid looking too bulky.
One key trend that Tibi has embraced is the double waistband. Featuring a fake double waistline, one high, one low, it not only speaks of interesting tailoring, but also has the illusion of shrinking the waistline too. Handy to know after the festive season.
