This year's Emmy Awards was dominated by a streak of wins from Showtime's Homeland, which won best drama series, best writing in a drama series, best actress, and best actor. Most eyes may be on the gongs but ours were most certainly on the gowns. Here's our round up of the best and the worst fashion on the red carpet. Juliana Margulies was radiant in Giambattista Valli Couture and Girls star Allison Williams worked the peplum trend in Oscar De La Renta. Julia Louis-Dreyfus won lead actress in a comedy series for her sho w Veep wearing a custom-made Vera Wang dress. Ginnifer Goodwin wore Monique L'huillier with matching Christian Louboutin heels. Lucy Liu and January Jones wore avant-garde designs by Versace and Zac Posen. Tina Fey paired a burgundy Vivienne Westwood column dress with sleek hair while best lead actress in a drama series winner, Claire Danes, wore a flowy yellow Lanvin creation. Downton Abbey star Michelle Dockery wore a silk Louis Vuitton gown while Mad Men's Jon Hamm looked dapper in Giorgio Armani alongside Jennifer Westfeldt in J. Mendel. Ashley Judd (in Carolina Herrera) and Connie Britton (in Andrew GN) proved that halternecks are not suitable for everybody. Winner of best guest actress in a drama series, Martha Plimpton, and Lena Dunham (of HBO's Girls ) were too petite for the heavy embroidery of their Christian Siriano and Prada gowns. Glenn Close's Bibhu Mohapatra design was on the wrong side of futuristic. Lena Headey, of Game Of Thrones , took this season's gothic trend a stretch too far in Giorgio Armani. Hayden Panettiere wore an excessively intricate Marchesa gown. On the contrary Julianne Moore, who took home an Emmy for lead actresss in a miniseries/movie for her role in Game Change, wore a very plain Dior design that didn't do much for her complexion or figure. Voluptuous Mad Men star Christina Hendricks was busting out of her Christian Siriano dress while Amanda Peet failed to impress in a pale peach Calvin Klein number.
