Luxury retailer Boutique 1 has joined the rank of judges for the upcoming International Woolmark Prize Middle East, India & Pakistan awards. The event will be held at the Manzil Downtown Dubai on July 22. Now in its fourth year, international past judges having included Victoria Beckham and the Editor-in-Chief of Vogue Italia Franca Sozzani. The prize is set to spotlight the growth of the city‘s luxury sector and
Boutique 1 will be represented by Bridget Cosgrave, the store’s fashion and buying director.
Geared towards bringing emerging design to the world stage, the event will showcase new talent from the UAE and the GCC. Eleven hopefuls been put forward by the official nominating bodies for the Middle East, India and Pakistan comprising the Dubai Design & Fashion Council, IMG Reliance, PFDC, and Starch Foundation.
Nominees will present sketches of six outfits, incorporating the use of Merino wool, to the regional panel and one complete outfit from the capsule collection.
The finalists will then travel to the International Woolmark Prize finals held in Florence and New York in 2016.
The winner for the womenswear category will see their creations rolled out at Boutique 1 in the UAE.
