- India bowled out for 119 as Pakistan bowlers dominate after rain delays
- Pakistan restricted to 113-7
- India have won both their games, Pakistan have now lost first two
Get ready for the biggest game in cricket!
Hello and welcome to The National's coverage of the biggest game of the T20 World Cup - India v Pakistan in New York.
The tournament has been a roller-coaster ride so far, with a number of stunning results - the biggest one being tournament co-hosts USA defeating 2022 finalist Pakistan in the Super Over.
That result has added a lot of drama to the remaining Group A matches, now that USA have two wins out of two. For Pakistan, the pressure will be very high to not only get a win over rivals India but also to salvage their campaign.
Adding to the excitement is the nature of the pitch in New York, which has easily been the most difficult in the tournament.
Paul Radley will be providing regular updates as we gear up for the biggest contest in cricket.
Historic defence
Bumrah the poster boy
Put him in the Louvre.
'Keep it simple'
Bumrah's gameplan. Sounds like a good idea, that.
Bumrah player of the match
Feels like the same drill every match.
He is different gear.
They are right to celebrate that defence
India win it!
They keep Pakistan to 113/7, as they defend 120.
Brilliant performance by India's bowlers - in particular, as ever, Jasprit Bumrah.
Naseem goes down fighting
A foot or so short of six off the penultimate delivery.
Pakistan needs snookers.
Twelve needed off 12
Naseem keeps it alive with a brilliant ramp for four.
Imad goes
India are hurrying to victory here. Imad is caught behind off the first ball of the last over.
Eighteen needed off five, with the bowlers at the wicket.
Iftikhar goes
And does the match go with him?
A full toss from Bumrah on leg stump, launched high in the sky by Iftikhar.
Arshdeep does well to avoid a collision and hold on to the catch.
Pakistan are 102/6, and need 18 off the last over.
Bumrah ends with three for 14.
Jokes.
Two overs left
Twenty-one runs required in 12 balls.
Five wickets left.
Imad Wasim and Iftikhar Ahmed at the crease.
Bumrah with ball in hand.
'Unforgivable, unprofessional, unacceptable'
Siraj has just overstepped for a no ball.
Fair to say, Sunil Gavaskar on commentary was less than impressed.
No major damage done, though.
Pakistan still require 24 in 14 balls.
He's so good
Still has six balls to bowl, remember.
Win predictor madness
Still has India as a 35 per cent chance.
Can't have seen much cricket.
Another one goes
Pakistan are reeling here. Pandya follows Shadab Khan with a short ball.
He can only top edge behind where Rishabh Pant takes the catch.
No matter what win predictor says (it had Pakistan as near certainties until recently) it feels as though India have this game where they want it now.
Pakistan 88/5, need 32 runs in 21 balls.
Axar assists
Axar Patel rushes through an over for the concession of just two singles.
Pakistan need 35 in 24 balls.
Pressure building. Could go pop.
Bumrah the great
Has two for 12 off three overs.
The six balls he has left could decide the game.
Sonic Bumrah
A massive roar as Jasprit Burmah obliterates Rizwan's stumps with the first ball of his new spell.
Rizwan made 31 from 44 balls. He had been anchoring the innings, but pretty slowly.
Now there will be a new batter at the crease, with Imad Wasim not looking settled at the other end.
Pakistan 80/4, needing 40 in 34 balls.
What a bowler Bumrah is. An all-formats great.
Luck for Imad
An edge for four off Arshdeep releases a little bit of the pressure that was building up on Pakistan.
It has taken them to 78/3, and they need 42 from 39 balls.
