Almost twice as many millionaires moved to the UAE than to the next most popular country in the past year, data shows. More than 6,700 high-net-worth individuals migrated to the Emirates last year, according to a report from investment migration advisers Henley & Partners. Our chart shows the UAE easily topped the 10 most attractive countries for super-wealthy migration last year, ahead of the US, in second place with 3,800, and third-placed Singapore with 3,500. Data shows Canada (3,200), Australia (2,500) and Italy (2,200) also proved popular with super-rich migrants. The provisional figures are based on data from January to June last year, supplied by wealth intelligence firm New World Wealth. Millionaire migration is a leading indicator of the overall health of a country and its economy, Henley & Partners says.
