Vandals daubed the official residence of the US ambassador to Greece with paint in an attack being blamed on local anarchists. Greece’s foreign ministry called it an "unacceptable and irresponsible action”. Greek media reported that at least seven people were arrested. Rouvikonas [Rubicon in English] is a far-left group with a history of attacking embassies, banks and businesses. “I woke up to more childish vandalism this morning outside the residence and will continue to work with Greek authorities to punish the culprits according to law,” ambassador Geoffrey Pyatt tweeted. “Destruction of property is not a peaceful protest,” he said. Mr Pyatt was nominated for the role in Greece in 2016 by former US president Barack Obama.
