Volunteer doctors help 82 cancer patients thanks to Sharjah charity

DUBAI // Volunteer doctors have helped diagnose and treat 82 cancer patients in the first half of 2015 thanks to the Friends of Cancer Patients Society.

The charity, which raises awareness of the risks of cancer and the importance of early detection, has so far supported more than 1,300 patients in getting the necessary healthcare.

The charity’s director general, Dr Sawsan Al Madhi, said donations were crucial to continue the good work.

“Every dirham donated has deeply impacted and changed the lives of many patients for the better,” he said. “Because of these donations, whether large or small, we are able to provide constant care, treatment and, more importantly, hope to cancer patients who have no other means of support.”
