Football talk takes over Twitter

Football is the most popular game in the world. So there is little wonder that social media is filled with discussions of the upcoming European seasons, which kick off in the middle of August. With so much political chaos and turbulence in the world, many social media users are concerned for the safety of players and fans.

“To watch Barcelona play would be the best thing,” some users noted in reference to the upcoming match between Barcelona and Sevilla in the Supercopa de Espana.

“The world has enough of the violence. Instead, let’s enjoy the beautiful game and forget about what’s happening around the world.”

Football is clearly a game to be relished. “I would urge everyone to do that instead of being tensed about who is going to win. There is no need to be fanatic about it,” said one Twitter user.

For many fans, however, re-watching the great goals scored by Saudi player Yaser Al Qahtani is the best year-round football experience.

After all, who can deny his talent or the fact that a player like him is not seen on the field very often?
