The long teased sequel for '90s cult classic Space Jam has now been officially announced via an Instagram post by Spring Hill entertainment. The post shows an empty locker room with four names: LeBron James as star, Black Panther's Ryan Coogler as producer, Terence Nance as director and, of course, Bugs Bunny. The prospect of a sequel with LeBron James has been talked about since the basketball star started his acting career, most notably in the Judd Apatow film, Trainwreck with Amy Schumer and Bill Hader. Perhaps the biggest surprise is Ryan Coogler's involvement as producer, particularly following his huge success with the Marvel smash-hit Black Panther. Directing the project will be up to Terence Nance, who cut his teeth directing the 'David Lynch meets Chappelle Show' creation Random Acts of Flyness on HBO. The first movie, beloved by many who grew up in the '90s, starred NBA legend Michael Jordan, alongside Charles Barkley, Mugsy Bogues and Patrick Ewing, to name a few. The legendary Bill Murray also made an appearance. This news should excite many, perhaps even the cynics who have had enough of tired sequels, as there is a chance here for a legitimately fun flick. Will it be another classic that will be watched many times over, as a previous generation did with their VHS copies of the original film? And will Michael Jordan make an appearance again? We certainly hope so. ___________ Read more: Fifa 19: All you need to know ahead of release Playstation Classic: Sony brings out mini version of original console Why is Cristiano Ronaldo flipping burgers in the new Fifa 19 advert? ___________
